  • Exhale while bending your knees. Bring your heels close to your buttocks. Make sure both your knees are hip-width apart.
  • Slowly lift your hands and hold your ankles, not the top part of your feet. Make sure your fingers are holding the ankles and not the thumb.
  • Inhale slowly and lift your heels away from the mat while holding your ankles. You can lift your head, chest, and thighs away from the yoga mat.
  • Draw in your tailbone to deepen the stretch. You will also feel a stretch in your back when your weight and balance shifts towards the core.
  • Look straight and hold this position for at least 15 seconds. Focus on stretching and breathing.

  • Press your feet into the floor. Slowly inhale and lift your hips up.
  • Roll your spine off the floor. Squeeze your knees together keep both hip width apart.

  • Breathe and hold at least 4 to 8 breaths.
  • Exhale and roll down your spine back to the yoga mat.
